The Chesapeake Detachment 853, Marine Corps League, is offering 10 (ten) education scholarships each in the amount of $500.00 to be awarded to qualified students who have been accepted into an accredited college, university, or school of tertiary education, or into an accredited trade school, for the fall semester, 2025.  Any student who is a child, stepchild, grandchild, or step grandchild of a Marine, or of a Navy Corpsman or Chaplain that has served with Marines, is eligible.  The scholarships are to be awarded directly to the student to assist in paying for those last-minute expenses, such as travel, setting up their dorm room, or acquiring extra supplies for school.

Applications and supporting documents can be submitted by mail or hand delivered to the address below but must be received no later than 1 June 2025. Winning applicants will be notified no later than 1 July 2025.
